Injuries
In May 2015 he broke a bone in his left hand after hitting a buoy during the 10km World Cup event in Cozumel, Mexico. Despite the injury he managed to finish the race. (actualites.uqam.ca, 11 May 2015)

RETIREMENT
He retired from competitive open water swimming in December 2017 after he could not secure funding with Swimming Canada to continue. "This past year has shown me how Swimming Canada is indifferent to swimming in open water." He said he intended to accept an internship with a "prestigious firm." (swimswam.com, 19 Dec 2017)
