When and where did you begin this sport?
She took up artistic swimming at age six in Changzhou, People's Republic of China. She switched to swimming at age nine.
Why this sport?
Her grandfather and her parents sent her to a swimming class so she could get exercise. She switched from artistic swimming as her coach thought she had the potential to race.
