She began swimming at age three. At age six she enrolled in a swimming club in Barcelona, Spain. |
Why this sport? |
She and her parents were advised by a coach to do a trial at a swimming club. "I was so nervous. I was told to swim the four strokes but I didn't even know that butterfly stroke actually existed. Once the test was over, my soon to be coach, Pilar Plaja, told us I had received a grant to be a member of the Club de Natacio Catalunya team." |

FAMILY PLANS After the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, she revealed that she hopes to start a family before returning to compete in the sport at international level again. "I want to come back after becoming a mother. I know that maybe I won't have the performance to go to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, but I would like to return to the national team, and compete at a European championships and the national championships. FURTHER EDUCATION She took a break from her swimming career for five years to focus on her biology studies at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain.
