Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport?
She began swimming at age six in Kalinkavichy, Belarus.
Why this sport?
Her mother and grandmother enrolled her in the sport. "The coaches did not want to take me into the group, they said I was too young. But then they saw that I had potential and allowed me to join. For the first six months I was floundering on my own, and then I started working with coaches. Later I was invited to take up athletics, and until the 10th grade I was involved in school competitions, as well as cross-country skiing. I also danced and tried to keep up with everything, but eventually I decided to focus on swimming."
