She followed her older brother into the sport. Initially she combined swimming with artistic gymnastics, but eventually focused on swimming.

TRAINING CHANGES
In September 2018 she switched her training base from the DSW 1912 Darmstadt club to nearby SG Frankfurt. In January 2020 she chose to join Frankfurt coach Mark Jayasundara's group full-time, having also previously worked with national coach Shila Sheth. "I felt that staying at Darmstadt was not going to go in the right direction. You have to pay attention to the time you still have." MIXED RELAY FAN
After she won a gold medal in the mixed 4x200m freestyle relay at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, she said she was supportive of the mixed gender relay format. "I hope that mixed relays will continue to establish themselves. Jumping into the water with guys is a lot of fun, even though it feels a little different to start after a man."
