Other information |
RETIREMENT He announced his retirement from competitive swimming in November 2020 after competing in an International Swimming League meet with the New York Breakers. He had initially planned to retire following the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, and chose not to continue for the rearranged Games in 2021. "I wasn't really emotional, but I really lived today like I want to remember it. The team celebrated me and were cheering so loud for me. It was really nice to go out with a blast. I made the choice very consciously, so I'm not now regretting it, looking forward to those Games with nostalgia. I am still 100% behind the decision."
