Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport?
She took up water polo in eighth grade.
Why this sport?
She originally competed in multiple sports, including football, basketball and softball, but wanted to switch to a low impact sport due to a shin complaint. "I was being stubborn because my dad was pushing me so hard to try it [water polo] because he played it, and I just refused because I wanted to be different. I needed a low impact sport and my parents suggested water polo. I had a rough start in eighth grade, trying to build my swimming endurance and getting used to the physicality of water polo."
