Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport?
She took up artistic swimming at age nine, having swam from an early age.
Why this sport?
She followed her mother and older sisters into swimming, but at age nine she discovered artistic swimming. "A new club was offering synchronised swimming tryout sessions. As I was fed up with swimming in the pool, I decided to try it. I was curious about the sport because I had watched it on TV during the Olympic Games in Athens. Once I tried it, I immediately fell in love with it."

Other information
She believes that joining GS Marina Militare, the sports section of the Italian Navy, in 2016 has meant she can focus fully on her artistic swimming career. She also feels it has enhanced her employment options after she retires from the sport. "Joining GS Marina Militare was a chance that really changed my life. Artistic swimming is a minority sport and, thanks to this opportunity, I can train with the peace of mind of having a working future once my sporting career ends."
