She took up the sport in Moscow, Russian Federation.
Why this sport?
"I started with artistic gymnastics. I was three years old and was a very restless child. Mum didn't know what to do with me. She decided that only sports would help. I stayed in gymnastics for four-and-a-half years and after that I switched to artistic swimming. One time I went to swim in the paddling pool, and that's when a coach noticed me."
