RAISING AWARENESS
She would like to raise the profile of open water swimming in Italy. "Our sport is little-known, even though we are among the strongest nations in the world. It is a pity that in Italy there is no prominence because it is beautiful and it is very well known especially in the rest of the world, almost like cycling. It is strange to have this popularity in Trentino [Italy] because doing 25 kilometres of swimming does not seem possible in an area without sea." (lavocedeltrentino.it, 24 Aug 2018)

FATHERLY INFLUENCE
She says her father Marino instilled in her the value of hard work from a young age, which enables her to endure the fatigue experienced in open water swimming. "My father Marino, a hard worker, electrician and farmer, taught me about hard work. He used to tell me repeatedly that if you want to get there you have to work hard and you have to love what you do, even the effort. He taught me to love fatigue." (corriere.it, 07 Sep 2020)
