JELLYFISH SHOCK He could not finish the 5km race at the 2019 World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar, due to a jellyfish sting. "After many years in open water swimming, I was not able to continue the race for the first time after a jellyfish stung me. The burns were accompanied by an allergic reaction - dizziness, trouble breathing, severe muscle pain in the left arm and chest, and then throughout the body. Never before have I experienced such sensations from jellyfish. It's a shame to end the season on such a note. Open water is full of surprises." (cska.ru, 15 Oct 2019) |
