Sporting philosophy / motto |
"Every race is the same. You dive in and pretty much black out. I wish I had a better answer, but you black out and the training takes over. I've probably swam hundreds and hundreds and thousands and thousands of 50s in my lifetime. Each one feels the same, whether you go a 20.5 or a 19.0. It's all out and it's all tiring." SUSPENSION In September 2016 he was banned from the sport for four months by USA Swimming and the United States Olympic Committee [USOC] for breaching both organisations' code of conduct at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He and teammates Joseph Bentz, Ryan Lochte and Jack Conger were filmed on closed-circuit television [CCTV] vandalising a petrol station in the city during a night out. Bentz and Conger also received four-month bans while Lochte was suspended for 10 months after initially falsely claiming the quartet had been robbed at gunpoint. Feigen also donated 35,000 Brazilian reals to a Brazilian charity. (bbc.com, 08 Sep 2016, 21 Aug 2016, 19 Aug 2016)
ENTREPRENEUR In 2014 he and some friends founded Phox, a mobile-phone charging locker system located inside bars and restaurants where people pay to charge their mobile devices while they are out. By early 2016 they had 50 units across four cities in Texas, United States of America. (usaswimming.org, 04 Mar 2016) |
