"Well I was probably about 12 years old and with every school there's always a school swimming carnival. One year, I think it was maybe grade seven, I'm not sure, maybe six, I actually ended up winning the overall age championship. I hadn't really trained or anything. I really enjoyed it, so I started swimming lessons at Miami Swim Club and everything kind of progressed from there. I stayed in the sport, loved it, got better the more I trained and just stuck with it." |
