Sport Specific Information
Why this sport?
"I have always enjoyed physical activity, whether it is sports, cubs, or simply playing outside in the garden. When I was nine, my friend asked me if I wanted to try out for Perth City Swim Club, then we could go to each other's house to play before swimming in the evening. I went to the trials and got through, and ever since then I've kept it up. I really enjoy the sport."

NEW CLUB
In September 2020 he moved from his long-time club, Perth City, to train full-time at the University of Stirling in Scotland. "It's been something I have considered for quite a long time. I have been training with Stirling's senior programme once a week since sixth year at school. It has been almost eight years [speaking in September 2020] that I have had the relationship with them. I feel now, to get the extra push for the next few years, I wanted to move there. They all have similar goals and aspirations to me. It's really inspiring to be a part of that and to push myself." (dailyrecord.co.uk, 04 Sep 2020)

WATER SAFETY
In 2019 he took part in a Scottish nationwide water safety campaign to teach children self-rescue and life saving skills as part of the Royal Life Saving Society UK's Drowning Prevention Week. "Swimming is a huge part of my life but swimming is also a life skill. With so many miles of coastline and inland lochs [in Scotland] it is really important that all children have the chance to learn to swim so they become confident, competent and safe swimmers." (scottishwater.co.uk, 21 Jun 2019)
