She became the first Greek female swimmer to win a medal at the European short course championships after claiming bronze in the 100m butterfly at the 2019 edition in Glasgow, Scotland. (swimswam.com, 08 Dec 2019, 14 Sep 2020; SportsDeskOnline, 07 Dec 2021) |

FURTHER EDUCATION In September 2020 she began studying for a doctorate in individual rights and sports law at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus. She has also studied for a master's degree in commercial and corporate law at Queen Mary University of London in England, and studied piano at a music conservatory in Chania, Greece. "My father is an agronomist and my mother is a lawyer. They insisted that I should not neglect reading and studying. I have always believed in combining sports with education. After all, when I'm not doing well at one, the other helps me. When I decide to quit the sport, I want to get into law and spend the same amount of time on it as I have on swimming. I have seen my mum in court and I want to be like her." (kathimerini.gr, 07 Jun 2021; protothema.gr, 20 May 2021; qmsu.org, 01 Jan 2019) |
