Sport Specific Information |
Why this sport? |
She always enjoyed swimming, despite her mother trying to put her off pursuing a career in the sport as she knew from her own experiences as an international swimmer how difficult it would be to reach a high level. "I remember mum not wanting me to swim because she knew how hard it was. She tried to steer me towards other sports but I just loved swimming and in the end she just gave up. And it has definitely been of benefit to me having a family who know all about swimming. I do brag though that my PBs are a lot better now than my mum's." |
When and where did you begin this sport? |
She began swimming competitively at age nine. |
