EARDRUM INJURY In 2013 she injured her eardrum while acrobatics training. She had taken up diving and cheerleading in order to improve her artistic swimming lifts. She decided to continue competing in artistic swimming despite doctors warning her that there was a risk she could lose her hearing. "My doctor asked me if I wanted to swim or to continue being able to hear, and obviously I decided to keep on swimming. Six years later [speaking in 2019] here I am, using an ear plug. I don't regret my decision because I have experienced wonderful things. Later there will be enough time to undergo surgery or to buy a hearing aid. I like flying. I enjoy being in the air. When I'm in the air and I hear people cheering I feel an emotion that can't be described." (Canal 44 YouTube channel, 02 Sep 2019; matutinografico.com, 30 Aug 2019)
MUSIC MIXING She has edited the music the Mexican teams use in international competition, including at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "We needed someone who could do the mixing quickly and, since 2010, I have been in charge of it. Sometimes we do up to 100 versions before finding the right one. It's a talent that I discovered that allows me to be helpful, but it could be linked to my future. I'd like to study music production, audio engineering or something like that."
