In his youth he tried various sports and activities, including volleyball, tennis, singing, playing the piano and painting. He showed potential in swimming and volleyball, and at age 16 he had to choose. "For a few days I was deep in thought, and finally I decided to swim. Because volleyball is a team game, a lot depends on your partners. But in swimming, you decide everything yourself." |
