EATING DISORDER
In 2020 she spoke openly about struggling with bulimia during 2018 and 2019. "My first experience with the disorder was while we were in Flagstaff, Arizona [United States of America], for a period of altitude training. All the other athletes were cross-country skiers and, in their company, I saw myself as fat. Thus began two very long years of serious eating disorders, which hurt me, left me exhausted and put me in front of the highest mountain of all to climb to ask for help. I will always have this love and hate for my body. It is not something that will pass, but you have to live with it, like everyone has to face their fears." (padovasport.it, 11 Aug 2020; corriere.it, 09 Aug 2020; theowlpost.it, 01 Aug 2020)

COACHING CHANGE
In October 2019 she switched from working with US coach Shane Tusup in Cittadella, Italy to work under Moreno Daga in Padua, Italy. "I think I'm very connected with him [Daga] because he is not only a good coach, he's also like a father to me. He's very protective and I'm learning a lot from him. He has taught me to live a proper life, not only in my swimming career but outside too." (swimswam.com, 16 Dec 2019)
