Her father coached swimming. "Both my dad and grandfather have a great passion for this sport. Dad practised it at a competitive level until high school. My parents took me and my sister to the swimming pool from an early age. Not so much because they aspired to competitive practice, but because they simply wanted us to learn to swim, so that we would have no problems or fear at sea."
