"My grandfather taught me and my older cousin how to swim on the Volga river. He taught us to swim like a dog, as it was customary. After I swam to him like a dog, I rolled over and swam on my back. He was shocked - 'How did you do it, who taught you, who showed you?' I simply replied, 'Nobody showed me, it's just more convenient that way'. After that, he quickly decided to enrol me in a club, although I never became a backstroke swimmer." |
