FROM ARKANSAS TO LOUGHBOROUGH In March 2020 she moved from the University of Arkansas in the United States of America to train at British Swimming's National Centre in Loughborough, England. She was unable to finish her final season at the US university due to the COVID-19 pandemic but had planned to move back to England in the summer regardless. "Once I graduated, if things had gone well and I had made the Olympic [2020 Games in Tokyo] team, the plan after that was to train at Loughborough at the National Centre. That was always the plan after Arkansas. Now my permanent base will be in Loughborough." (swimswam.com, 17 Apr 2020)
FURTHER EDUCATION Between 2018 and 2020 she studied for a master's degree in kinesiology with a swimming scholarship at the University of Arkansas in the United States of America. (swimswam.com, 17 Apr 2020, 29 Nov 2018; arkansasrazorbacks.com, 01 Jan 2019; thesubath.com, 26 Apr 2018)
SWIMMING BREAK She quit swimming at age 13 but returned to the sport at age 18 in a bid to compete at the World University Games. (bbc.co.uk, 22 May 2021) |
