His sister Noemi represented Italy at the 2021 European Junior Championships in Rome, Italy, while his brother Matteo has competed in the sport at national level. His parents Giorgio Lamberti and Tanya Vannini both represented Italy in swimming. They also serve as his coaches. "When I was younger I saw them as my parents when they were by the pool. Now I think I am mature enough to separate the roles. My father is more demanding, he motivates and encourages me to always give my best. He often insists more on details and sometimes I am not in the mood to listen to him, but I know that what he is doing is for my own good. Both my mother and my father have made history in the sport. They are an inspiration for me and I am very proud of carrying this name. But I do not try to be influenced by it and I try to go my own way, thinking only about improving myself."
