MOTIVATION
He says his father, former Brazilian swimmer Gustavo Borges, is an inspiration for him, but he also wants to write his own story. "My father is a source of inspiration and knowledge. Yes, he won four Olympic medals and was a better swimmer than I am today. But he is him and I am myself. COACH SWITCH
In 2021 he graduated from the University of Michigan and joined the working group of Spanish coach Sergio Lopez Miro at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, United States of America.
