Sporting philosophy / motto
"Never stop reaching your goals, just work hard. You do have to sacrifice a lot but you also have to know what you want. You've got to be an athlete 24/7. Watch what you do outside the pool and make sure it aligns with your goals. There are plenty of people who are naysayers, but don't listen to them. Don't be afraid to dream big." COLLEGE COMMITMENT
In November 2021 she made a verbal commitment to attend the University of Florida from the 2023/24 academic year. "I am beyond excited to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at the University of Florida. I am so thankful for my family, friends, and coaches at FAST [Fishers Area Swimming Tigers] for guiding me along the way. Also, thank you to all of the UF coaches for giving me this amazing opportunity." (swimmingworldmagazine.com, 01 Nov 2021)

FOCUS ON IMPROVEMENT
In early 2021 she said she wanted to work on improving in the early stages of her races. "I need to work a lot on my front half because my back half is pretty good. My front half, I just can't seem to get out as fast, so I've been working a lot on the 100m [backstroke]. With that speed in the 100m, it can help me take out the 200m faster."
