RETIREMENT He announced his retirement from competitive sport a few days after the 2016 European Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. "I made a very difficult but not surprising decision. I'm physically and emotionally exhausted. I had some problems to prepare and to complete training and this is a moment when a professional athlete must end his career. I wanted us to prove at the European championships in Belgrade that we are still an elite team. And I think we did it. The team is in good hands and I will be always a part of it, because this guys deserve to have me next to them, but there is no chance that I'll change my decision." (mondo.rs, 29 Jan 2016) |
