REALITY TV INJURY
In 2019 she took part in the Mexican reality television show 'Exatlon' in which contestants compete through a series of physical challenges. A knee injury meant she had to quit the show early, and she did not return to competitive diving until August 2021. (mexico.as.com, 27 Sep 2019)
COMEBACK FROM RETIREMENT
After missing out on selection for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, she decided to retire from diving to focus on her studies. She returned to diving in 2012. "I retired from diving when I was 19 years old, it was a premature retirement. I dedicated myself to studying and doing sports teaching as a cheerleader. Then I began working as the coach of the little kids in the Mexican Olympic Committee's diving school and rekindled old friendships there, and I was invited to take part in a high diving show."
