RETIREMENT PLANS After the end of the team event at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo she announced she would not compete at the 2024 Games in Paris. "These are officially my last Games. At the end of the programme, at the end of the routine, I just wanted to say, 'That's all'. And it's the end. I understand that maybe it's my last competition. I don't know yet, but maybe. I just want to have a rest now. It was a crazy two years, and I just want to be with my family now. As a mother, I would like to have a second baby, I think that I am ready for that. Then, I don't know. Maybe coaching - many countries have contacted me about that and invited me to work with them. In the future, maybe to work in FINA or even in the IOC. I think I can do it and bring my experience there. I hope this can happen." (fina.org, 07 Aug 2021, 08 Aug 2021)
CAREER BREAK After the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, she took a break from competition and became a coach with the Russian junior artistic swimming team, as well as assistant coach of the senior national team. She did not compete at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, as she was pregnant with her first child. In September 2018 she resumed training.
