RETIREMENT He announced his retirement from the Hungarian national water polo team after winning bronze at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "I am amazingly happy. The only thing I thought about was that I wanted to take home a medal, as this was also my last national team match." (nemzetisport.hu, 08 Aug 2021)
OCCUPATION In September 2020 he joined the sports squadron of the Hungarian Defence Forces. "When I joined the Honved [in 2020], I didn't even think I would be a soldier. Then they mentioned the sports squadron, where I can serve as both an athlete and as military personnel. I have always been attracted to the military and I think team sports are an excellent way to serve my country." "I didn't really think of water polo at first. I swam all the time, and my brother and I went to swim lessons. I also played basketball, I played football, I played a lot of sports, and then I got bored of swimming because it was very monotonous. My parents then took me to the BVSC club to play water polo to make us stay in the water." |
