HIATUS In 2017 she decided to take a break from international competition in order to focus on her dentistry studies. She returned to the national team in January 2018. "I discovered that training with the national team would only happen in the afternoons, so I'm able to continue my studies. Due to a refreshed outlook going forward with the team and my experience, I thought it would be nice to return." Her return was also supported by the fact that her long-time coach, Roberta Perillier, returned to the national team. "She asked me to help her, and I said I would do it." She practised swimming and artistic gymnastics and at age nine, once she felt tired of swimming, she took up artistic swimming. "Swimming was a compulsory sport at home, as my siblings practised it because they have asthma. But I didn't like it, so at age nine I told my mother I wanted to do artistic swimming." |
