DISCIPLINE SWITCH She was encouraged to try open water swimming after the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and finally made the decision to transition away from the pool in 2014. "I wasn't really that interested in switching to open water but so many people believed I could be good at it that I started to believe it myself.
