She started swimming as part of a summer programme, but loved her coach so much that she joined the club's winter group.
When and where did you begin this sport?
She took up swimming at age nine at Beaconsfield Bluefins Swim Club in Beaconsfield, QC, Canada. In 2015 she competed in her first international open water competition.

DISCIPLINE SWITCH
She was encouraged to try open water swimming after the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and finally made the decision to transition away from the pool in 2014. "I wasn't really that interested in switching to open water but so many people believed I could be good at it that I started to believe it myself.
