FROM UKRAINE TO RUSSIAN FEDERATION
At the end of 2014 he moved from Ukraine to the Russian Federation to be closer to his relatives and his Russian partner, Yekaterina Fedorchenko, who he married in January 2015. He was about to quit the sport having undergone nasal surgery due to chronic highmoritis [inflammation of the sinuses] after representing Ukraine at the 2014 European Championships in Berlin, Germany. He then met the president of the Russian Diving Federation, Alexei Vlasenko, who suggested that he carry on diving and compete for the Russian team. In October 2015 he received Russian citizenship.
