RETIREMENT
In July 2019 he announced his retirement from the national team. "It was a privilege and joy to be a part of the national team and to represent Montenegro." In May 2020 he retired from playing altogether when he was appointed head coach of French club CN Marseille. "Although I had largely started with the preparations and work to pursue a coaching career after the end of my own [playing] career, the proposal of becoming coach of Marseille came a bit unexpectedly. It is not easy to make a decision to end your career practically overnight, everyone who has played sports knows that."
