RETIREMENT She retired from the sport after competing at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "[The] Olympics [in Tokyo] was my last one. It is worth putting a beautiful point on that. You need to stop in time." (matchtv.ru, 01 Dec 2021)
HIATUS In January 2018 she revealed she would be taking a break from international competition. In May of the same year she began working as an assistant to national duets coach Tatiana Danchenko, and then in January 2019 she announced she was pregnant. In October 2019 she returned to the sport. During the COVID-19 lockdown she spent about 300 days at the Ozero Krugloye national team training camp in the Moscow region of the Russian Federation. "If I had known that this would be the case, I don't know if I would have returned to the sport or not. But since I returned, I could not let my family or team down. I will not hide, it was hard for me to experience the separation from my child. And it was even more difficult because we did not know if the Olympics would take place. This takes a lot of moral strength. We know why everything is being done, we live this dream. But I think young athletes should understand the cost of this." (esquire.ru, 22 Jul 2021; Instagram profile, 09 Oct 2019; teamrussia.pro, 06 Aug 2018; rsport.ria.ru, 17 Jan 2018)
