Sport Specific Information
Why this sport?
"At an early age, playing in the water was my first love, both in the pool and sea. I took up water polo at age 11 and before that I did synchronised swimming which I could not continue due to a heart problem. Nothing serious really, but my parents and specifically my father did not want me to hold breath under water for a long time. My older brother was already playing water polo, and so I chose to follow in his footsteps."

RETIREMENT
She announced her retirement from the sport in August 2021. "A new cycle of my life begins and another very important one closes. I made the decision, after a very successful year with my club Olympiacos, to retire from water polo. I have had countless intense moments of emotion, joy, sadness, excitement, disappointment, but a full experience that I would not change for anything in the world. I did not expect water polo to become such an important part of my life. I want to thank everyone who stood by me during this long journey." (Instagram profile, 29 Aug 2021; sport24.gr, 29 Aug 2021)
