RETIREMENT
She retired from competitive swimming in February 2015. "After a huge change in circumstance, I have made the decision to leave competitive swimming. Having had my second lot of hip surgery, my road to recovery has led me down a different path. I have competed at a home Olympics, in a world championships final, and a Commonwealth Games; and am now excited to carry all these memories into my next chapter. To everyone who helped me achieve my childhood dreams and goals, you truly were invaluable, I could not have done it without you. Thank you." (swimswam.com, 10 Feb 2015)

EARLY DAYS
At age 13, she won 22 gold medals at the 2005 Lincolnshire Swimming Championships in England, claiming 17 junior titles as well as five in the senior categories. (sleafordstandard.co.uk, 10 Jan 2006)
Sport Specific Information
Why this sport?
"I went swimming with my mum and brother when I was really little, as it was always something mum could do with both of us. My brother then went on to join the local swimming club and I always looked up to him, so I wanted to join too. This eventually brought out my competitive side and I suddenly wanted to beat my brother, and it went from there really."
