AMERICAN DREAM He attended the American Community School of Athens in Greece as a teenager, and dreamed of attending college in the United States of America at the University of Southern California [USC] on a water polo scholarship. He was initially overlooked by USC coach Jovan Vavic, but after a breakout performance at the 2010 European Youth Championships in Germany, where he was named tournament MVP, he caught Vavic's attention and was offered a scholarship to USC the following academic year. "Living in Greece, I always had the idea of studying abroad so I went online and saw that USC had the best water polo team. I immediately wanted to go there."
