RETIREMENT In April 2016 she announced her retirement from international competition after the Spanish team did not qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. "After my knee surgery and not being able to go to the Olympic Games, I had very hard moments, so I decided to go back home and regain all the people I had forgotten for six years and start a new life with new goals. I left the national team, but not the sport. I am also a coach and will continue competing." For the 2016/17 season, she joined the coaching staff of Real Canoe club in Madrid, Spain.
