Sport Specific Information |
Why this sport? |
She also did gymnastics as a child and wanted to combine the two sports. "It is a very complete sport, a subtle marriage between technical, physical and artistic. I like playing a role in the water and having the opportunity to give free rein to my imagination. It's a bit like dancing or cinema, as you must learn to try and convey emotions to the judges and spectators." |
When and where did you begin this sport? |
She took up the sport at age 11 in Chassieu, France. |

RETIREMENT She announced her retirement from elite artistic swimming in July 2021, several weeks after missing the Olympic Qualification Tournament in Barcelona, Spain, due to injury. "It took me 17 years to successfully close this chapter of my life. I'm not leaving as I would have liked, but I am leaving serene, with my head held high, proud and with my heart filled with love. To all those who have contributed directly or indirectly to my sporting career, I say thank you." (Instagram profile, 12 Jul 2021; Inside Synchro Twitter profile, 27 Aug 2021; insidesynchro.org, 06 Jun 2021)
FILM WORK In 2017 she worked as a coach for the cast of 'Le Grand Bain' [The Big Swim], an artistic swimming-related film directed by Gilles Lellouche. "I hope [the film] helps the sport to be more popular. There have been other films that talked about synchro, but not always in a positive way. So, it will be a good news if people can identify themselves in the characters of Lellouche's film." (ffnatation.fr, 28 Nov 2017) |

Sporting philosophy / motto |
"I like to create, innovate so that people say to themselves, 'That's cool'. And this is what happens in sync [artistic swimming] when we put together a new choreography. Everyone should be amazed." (ffnatation.fr, 11 Mar 2021) |
