RETIREMENT
In July 2018 he retired from professional water polo, having spent 14 years playing for Olympiacos Piraeus as well as the Greek national team. He immediately took up a role as assistant coach to Thodoris Vlachos at Olympiacos Piraeus. "After many successful years with Olympiacos and the national team, I've decided to hang up my cap. Having experienced many happy moments I felt it was the right time to leave." (gavros.gr, 12 Jul 2018; in.gr, 09 Jul 2018)

ART GALLERY
He owns an art gallery in Kolonaki, Greece. "My interest in art started basically when I met my wife. Gradually I learnt more and now I teach how the trade is done. We thought about opening our own gallery for two or three years, and then we reached a suitable point, an ideal place in Kolonaki. We made a serious investment in difficult times, yet in our gallery we exhibit and sell works that appeal to collectors and also to people who want to buy a beautiful piece of art for their home. Art and sport can be relatable as I believe that sport is an expression of the highest art." (sport24.gr, 17 Nov 2014)
